Frogs...

So, here's a painting I'm not happy with but I'm certainly done fiddling with it at the moment.
There's some history here. I grew up in the "country" and frogs were a sort of form of "entertainment", lets just call it that, I'll post the sketch and dialogue from my sketchbook this painting came from soon.

Always Listen to Your Mother

Last week I received a couple advanced copies of the finished version of a children's book I illustrated titled, "Always Listen to Your Mother" by the amazing mother daughter duo Florence Perry Heide & Roxanne Heide Pierce. The team at Disney Hyperion did a fantastic job designing and laying out this book. I'm quite pleased with the results!
The release date is August 3rd at which time you'll find it in all your major book stores, or hell, check it out on Amazon!

For better or worse, another book Idea...

The age old caper where the rooster sees something he shouldn't have, and is now being framed.

Cloud Watcher... My wife had a much better name, but I can't remember it at the moment.

Lately I've been fascinated with clouds. I get these kernels of ideas for stories, like snapshots. This image was created to try to better understand one of those kernels. Its a story about a older man (misunderstood possible?) in a small town, and he's able to look at the clouds and tell stories of some sort. In my mind, it's the children of the town that flock to him to hear these tales, predictions, whatever they may end up.
Therein stands MY challenge.... How to make the kernel a story.
